It’s Not Insurance – Some Say It’s Better

Dr. Jay Gregston “Though my training and experience working in emergency departments, I have realized that many people have trouble accessing medical care. Often times, the only services obtainable for them are via an emergency room. This inability to meet area resident’s medical needs is usually related to a lack of medical providers in a given area, lack of health insurance, lack of monetary resources and often all three. It is our addition to Stephens County’s ‘access to medical care’ that excites me most. After significant research, planning, asking and negotiation with officials at our state capitol, we developed a concept that we call the HealthClub Discount Card. The HealthClub Advantage is truly simple. Your monthly membership allows you to come to UrgentMed or FamilyMed and be seen by a provider for ‘only $10.00’. That figure covers roughly ninety (90 %) percent of the treatment and procedures that we perform.

In addition, this concept is ideal for our local employers as they continually try to ‘economically’ provide healthcare benefits to their employees. An additional advantage of the HealthClub Discount Card, to employers, is the decreased “down time” for their employees. The ease of a non-appointment/walk-in medical facility with an incredibly low visit fee fosters the idea of going to the doctor, getting well and getting back to work.”
